The original site for this project was problematic, with existing waste deposits and high ground water. On top of that, it is located next to a railway line. We were commissioned to create a zoning plan. The area was to be developed with apartment buildings. In the first construction phase, two multi-family condominiums were built.
Each building consists of 10 or 12 apartments and an underground car park. Individual apartments were acoustically decoupled and the stairwells as well as technical spaces were placed adjacent to the railway. These technical measures and floor plan design allows for an architecture with an open relation to the outdoor space.
