The Susanne Bommer Store offers two completely different spatial experiences. The lively street life taking place outside the large display windows is reflected in the multi-coloured mirrors of the back wall of the first space.
The displayed fashion seems to be part of the urban space, which is extended into the store: cosmopolitan, open, clean, modern. In the back part of the store an organically shaped curtain circumscribes the clothing racks and provokes the opposite feeling: boudoir, security, intimacy, warmth. Here, the separation wall with the front space is also covered with different transparent foils.
Taking a closer look irritations occur, vague insights are revealed and connections are drawn. The dressing room, which is hidden in the separation wall, provokes an architectural game of disguise and nudity, of transparency and suggestion, which also characterizes Susanne Bommer’s fashion.
